Hydrodynamic modeling was carried out to study in detail the trajectory of the plume of a future submarine outfall and, thus, to verify if there is possible interference with shellfishing, mariculture, and coral reefs.
The hydrodynamic simulations took into account the effects of tides, winds, solar radiation, temperature, and salinity, on the process of effluent dispersion along the receiving body, considering the three-dimensional transport of the effluent varying in time and space.
